I have not faced them yet but the prospect is interesting. I hear their limited edition army book sold out super fast which is interesting. The new ranged unit (iron drakes) sound really powerful. They have like 18" range strength 5 armor piercing shots, 4+ armor save from gromril, each shot is flaming, they are quick to fire (so they can move and shoot and without penalty to shooting though 3" movement dwarfs means that isn't huge) and their armor allows a 2+ ward save against flaming attacks. It would probably toast my hellpit abomination in one volley as stupid as that is. Pretty crazy shit I've gotta say.
The 5+ parry save in the battle I saw with them was also pretty stupid and good but it only works when you're charged I think. The plus 1 to strength however only works when you charge. The old dwarf army I saw seemed much better with the new rules applied to it.
I also am interested in seeing the new dwarf flyers in action even if some seem to have developed hate for them. For some reason I like the look of them. Maybe in time people will grow more accepting of them but like dwarfs they are stubborn and stuck in their ways ;P.
Other than the flyers dwarfs still sound mostly gun-line. I heard that melee units for dwarfs rely on the gun-line still as their movement is pathetic enough that they can be out-maneuvered. The flyers and somewhat the miners should alleviate that a bit. I am incredibly curious what the new dwarf flyer units have. I think I checked it out but quickly forgot. It probably wasn't impressive enough in my short time of reading it. Maybe it'd be different when I see it in action on the board.
The runes from what I read also seem pretty good. You can throw up to 3 on one unit I think. There are rules to the runes but you can use a lot of them though they sound expensive. One that I heard a lot about was putting runes of slowness on the iron drakes so that they could force the enemy to move slower if trying to charge them and in the case of a 3rd stacked rune they'd give the 'always strikes last' special rule to the enemy that charged them. I suppose this can be negated somewhat if you don't charge the unit in question or if you do you march right next to them before charging (meaning you should make it regardless).
I'll mention more when I get to check the army book out some more and fight them with my skaven (which will probably end in me losing).
