So what's it like. I saw 2 other players playing from the sidelines and a psyker stabbed himself and somehow luckily summoned a daemon prince out of himself. While that is totally cool it totally changed the game around and I feel like that guy should've lost overall. Because of the daemon prince he won though. It was a crazy game and it was very close.

Yeah that's pretty ridiculous. Dunno what your personal opinions are though. Not sure if you think the video is funny or you agree.
While it's interesting that movie clip parody is so old you're basically kicking a dead horse at this point.

There are some unbound armies I want to try out ; like an all HQ marine army or loads of speeders and storm talons. I just can't afford the book yet.. probably for a little while. Black spray and a box of sternguard to make my honour guard are more important right now.
Yeah sorry it was easier posting that video to explain the main problem with Eldar summoning Slaanesh daemons or Ezekiel of the Dark Angels summoning a great Unclean One rather than spell it all out. It shouldn't be allowed.
Still I suppose we can agree when to use unbound and when not to and we can house rule no Imperial armies allowed to summon daemons pretty easily. Gaming in official GW stores will be fun :s

I would still like to try dark eldar out but I'm not sure how I feel about these new rules. What's this about a bajillion daemons being able to be summoned out of somebody's ass. Seriously it's a bit ridiculous.

This is the leaked Malefic power chart. I think its only overpowered if someone takes 'The Blue Scribes' as they don't suffer penalties at all or take perils of the warp checks, so they can potentially summon you a greater daemon per turn. On the other hand there is a chart that penalises the daemon player randomly every turn so you could lose a few units if things go bad. Don't know; maybe daemons needed the Malefic tree to sort out that daft chart in the Daemons codex. Malefic TreeSo as you can see there are 4 'conjuration' powers out of the seven; Summoning - 10 lesser daemons or 3-5 of the cavalry types depending on power Sacrifice - lose a friendly model to get a Herald with 30 points of gear Incursion - 3 of the cavalry daemons Possession - lose your psyker to get your choice greater daemon Haven't read up on the 7th psychic phase but in 6th you would need a level 3 psyker to even get access to warp charge 3 powers; i.e. my level 1 and level 2 psykers are never going to be powerful enough to use these power anyway. I can't use Tigurius - the only level 3 psyker because he's an Ultramarine. In addition anyone NOT playing daemons (even CSM, I think) suffers a Perils of the Warp on ANY DOUBLE if using the Malefic tree so if you only have low level psykers its suicide.

So has warhammer become 'whore' hammer then ;P? It sounds like it has more for 40k.
I'm still having more problems with my skaven but I was wondering if 40k is any good if I want to try something with dark eldar. Then again their book is aging so I don't know.

The book was withdrawn completely from the stores, so you should be getting an update.
I'm still playing 6th for the time being, its just that whenever I get money for 40k stuff I run around GW screaming 'Tactical marines and black spraypaint!' and always forget about 7th ed. Just like you can never remember what colour the carpet is in that specific GW store. Was it grey or was it maroon?

You tell me that this isn't a lie right now! Omg I really want my skaven to get another update. They're starting to suffer from being such an old book. The army is also the most FAQ'd to hell army in the game by a lot.

It's good you're still a skaven-slave because that way I can shoot you with a ratling gun or warpfire thrower in a big mob of other skaven-slaves while fighting my enemies and nobody will care. Roasted skaven-slave tastes real good ;P.

I have to ask how 7th edition is again. Online a lot of people hate it though for some odd reason a lot of people at the GW here seem to love the crap out of it. I'm not sure I understand the reasons for each side. I hear psychic phase is way stupid OP now but they got rid of the whole tau-dar (tau and eldar) crap.
