Now in case you don't know i'm a very, very terrible painter. Well actually i'm alright but in standards of me vs other painters my painting is very basic and currently usually consists of using about 11-12 paints per model. I hear about people that get up to 40 or 50 per model. I couldn't do that and i hate painting as is.
So currently i managed to work up a little bit of motivation and painted my warlord spinetail a bit. Currently he has so little paint on him that showing him now would be a waste. I intend to paint his main sword scorpion green as well as some runes (for warpstone), the dagger in the back a oozing greenish color representing poison or poxes, some exposed skin without hair will be dwarf flesh, the fur will probably be vermin brown, i've been doing dwarf bronze for much of the armor, chainmail for mostly just chainmail and some armor, skull white for the rat skull token, snakebite leather for the leather straps and possibly rope, blood red for the eyes, a yellow color (sunburst yellow maybe?) for the teeth and claws on the feet, a dark redish violet color for the nose like i always do, scorched brown for wood on the weapon shafts and such and then 2 colors for the clothes possibly so maybe a green, red, orange or blue (not sure yet what to throw on it but red's always fun though i think i'm obsessed with red when i paint though ork speed freaks would be happy).

Sunburst yellow might be a little too bright of a yellow for the teeth and skin, probably something like desert yellow would be better.

Yeah i'm sure it's just i worked with what i have and i didn't know a yellow good enough for teeth. Unfortunately the teeth of my other skaven look like bird's feet rather than nasty rotten teeth like i want them to look like. The same goes for the claws.

You can also mix if you feel inclined to do so, though that does require a bit of hit or miss to get right.

Remember i said i'm a crappy painter so i've never even mixed paint before even though i've been in this hobby for 4 and a half years. I think we tried early on with my cadians for guard but i haven't done it since. Not that it really matters as the color was mostly just dark angels green anyway.

Fair enough. Nothing wrong with trying it again though, since it'd be cheaper than buying a new pot of paint just to use on such a small area.

Maybe if i mixed the yellow color with the orange color (blazing orange i think?). That might still be too bright though. I haven't really painted him since 3 pm or so today and now it's almost 8 pm. I haven't been doing much besides sleep today. Well we'll see how it goes i guess.

So lately i've been painting my warlord spinetail (same one). I'm about halfway done and i'm surprised i got the motivation to do more. I painted dwarf flesh on him yesterday. So far he's got his skin, fur, his sword blades, his armor and some accessory parts paints as well as a small insignia. Honestly most of the big stuff has been painted except his clothes. I'll throw up some pictures when i can if anybody still looks at this site.

Regarding the above. I'd mix the yellow with your brown colour. Happily for rotten teeth you don't need to worry about always mixing it the same, each tooth could easily look a different shade of rot.

Ok i've got my warlord spinetail almost done. I'll throw up some pics on my photobucket page if that's ok. The enlarged versions are shit as it's taken from a cell phone that's a bit dated and crappy but you may want to see them in smaller size in the photo gallery. s1326.photobucket.com/user/Kevin_Wagner/library/#/user/Kevin_Wagner/library/Mobile%20Uploads?sort=3&page=1&_suid=137108482151804714346826405018I'm nearly done painting my warlord spinetail model. All i have left to do mostly is touch up the colors on him and change the color of his orange cloth with multiple shades of orange. I think that's honestly all i have left to do. I'll mention all the various colors later. Right now it's a bit too numerous to name them all. I plan to paint my finecast doom flayer next. I figure i'll get my warlord spinetail model finished during the weekend. Here's the crappy blurry enlarged versions of the warlord spinetail model.

This is looking great bit the pics are a bit blurry. You need to follow 3ff3ct's how to take good photos guide oin the IGMB in the Pictures subforum, basically get another lamp and use whit paper for the background.
Otherwise it looks very colourful.

I might do that. Since then I've almost fully painted a few clanrats. I've finally gotten some brushes (standard brush and fine detail brush) so now I can paint stuff because my detail brush is on its last legs right now. I've been painting clanrats. One has a blue hood and red clothes with shadowing, one is a slave and has gray clothes but with colors for shadowing and the final one has a purple hood and yellow clothes with shadowing as well. I have yet to paint the remaining two clanrats but there's more to go. In other news I have bought 40 more clanrats as well as the brushes. It would've been infinitely cheaper to buy an island of blood set though sadly the clanrat weapons on it are limited but the main reason is because nobody wanted high elves and I wanted to get something. Then there's the fact my half sister doesn't want me using my debit card online. Still think she'll kill me when she finds out I spent a good 80 dollars today on GW stuff.
