@chem: Hey that's fine. I'd actually prefer to see more orcs around. The funny thing about orcs and goblins is it's almost like two different armies. Some people focus on one or the other quite often. For some reason i think night goblin armies are the sickest though or at least for now. Freaking netters and fanatics are so annoying. Fanatics are random but painful and netters almost always net the enemy but it's hilarious when they fail 1/6 of the time. The same goes for squabling and animosity. Haha it's funny. You'd think the skaven have some negative effect to their treachery and back-stabbing they do to each other but i haven't seen it yet. At least feeling good skaven morale is the weakest in the game when unmodified. My god are ranks needed.

My army started with nothing but night goblins and spider riders when i bought skull pass. I really liked the buggers and started expanding them. I didn't paint them until i got them all though.
Then in a frantic 4-5 months i painted up the lot.

I just have no interest in painting ever since i got my skaven. Having to paint my guard, my roommate's vampire counts and finally my skaven just takes the want of painting out of you. I mean 3 freaking horde armies.
I feel inspired with dark eldar though. They could look really nice and they are a more elite army.
Goblins seem kind of funny but i'd rather see orcs as i always see goblins. I remember one time i fought goblins and even though i was winning in the fight i still lost due to stupid rules. Basically if even one guy is left in a unit you don't get points for it. This happened twice to huge goblins units. Also one 2 man goblin unit was fleeing at the end of the game and the other that was fleeing was at 1/3 strength. The other thing left was the warboss and like one other goblin. All 3 units even being barely alive didn't net me any points even though i was clearly winning. I had a plague furnace and plague priest with only some plague monks left and it was immobile or close to it if i remember correctly but nothing could even touch it.

I dunno i always thought dark eldar would look really nice painted well. I still think they'd look cool as sort of a techno raider army with lots of flashy colors highlighting their armor like neon type colors. They're also individualistic so lots of different colors would be good.
I'm not sure i can get skaven too look too great but maybe i can handle the clanrats and stormvermin alright. Skaven have quite a few really old and ugly models like plague censers and considering their size gutter runners since they're smaller than normal.

Yup horde armies are a bitch to paint, but they just look so much better 5 years on the Orcs are still unpainted. I did assemble the last ten goblin archers, which was tedious because of the mould lines. Maybe after the admech and guard, eh? |
