For the most part i think these guys look better than your vampire counts. Were the vampire counts your starter army? Either that or you have a much better idea of what to paint your orcs and goblins. I'm not a very good painter but i like my paint schemes. You're probably a better painter than me.

Actually the vampires are the 3rd The first were my dwarves, but they are for sale I actually like my counts, but i prefer the vivid colours you can give orcs.

Vampire counts go well with reds and blacks though that's a bit obvious. Spirit hosts can range from light gree, to light blue or gray usually. For my roommate's vampire counts i painted the ghouls light green, dark green, light blue, dark blue, purple and red. The point of this is giving them all an imp-ish look and i like how it turned out very much. Of course that's just me though and the explanation they're just humans that are warped and hunched over means all those hues are probably not needed. I only put gold colors on certain areas for the more elite vampire counts units. I feel i'm good at choosing colors but bad at painting which is a shame really. It's sad because i know people that choose awkward colors but are great painters.
