I have many, many Kroxigor! This sounds surprisingly worrying.

I think the kroxigor have to go with skinks anyway so you could always go for the skinks in some cases just for some easy combat resolution. Actually I think you may have to fight them anyway with the krox being in the 2nd or 3rd ranks. It sounds like a mixed bag because on one hand it could save the krox from being hit hard but on the other the massive combat resolution against them could force them to run away hard.

Kroxigor can go with Skinks. They do not in fact have to go with them

I think you should model a kroxigor with skinks hanging off its every limb and with a see-saw on its head with two skinks balancing on top.

I actually forgot about the empty as I haven't seen them used without skinks for some reason.
I agree with chem that you should do that with the skinks empty. What he should do is add a weapons emplacement on top of the krox's head with skinks manning it and possibly throwing javelins, shooting blowpipe darts or throwing rocks at the enemy.

From the chattering I recall from Lustria Kroxigor are considered so-so and are better as a choice with skinks. Of course it sounded like it was more fashionable to leave the Krox at home and skirmish the skinks.

I should get to painting my crap but I have a bunch of models to make now as well including these dark eldar hellions and archon. Ugh I have a ways to go.
Banshees seem pretty good if you're going for the 'scream' list. I don't know the details but I've heard of it. For banshees it's something like you roll 2d6+2 and for whatever roll you get above the enemy's leadership value (not a leadership test) is how many wounds they take with no armor saves allowed. For terrorgheists and the special sword that vampire counts get it's something like 2d6 plus the remaining wounds of the thing using the scream. Basically this attack is magical and is shooting. I hear most use terrorgheists without a rider (what with leaders on large targets getting cannon sniped so easily and VC needing their characters alive to prevent their army from collapsing).
Anyway I may get into vampire counts now. We'll have to see. If I do i'll probably play them online first. I'll be a noob with them so I expect to get my ass kicked but they just seem to have so many more options than skaven currently even if they have some annoying stuff too. I also hear vampire counts have useful units for everything.
----------
Back on topic and sorry for hijacking the thread but it'd be nice see more of the painting progress for both of you guys. Perhaps even i'll start painting. You definitely make me feel bad about my unaccomplished painting goals.

That's a very well painted general; you win, having the best painted Skaven general on the forum.
The poisoned/ bloody cleaver is amazingly done. Not the kind of steel to lick.

Well I have one as well that I painted up but i messed it up with a wash and it got way too dark. Ugh i need to learn how to use washes better maybe. Currently i have a fear of them on anything but the fur. I went for an orange leg covering as well. I wouldn't call it a skirt but it was covering them in a similar way. The idea of a skaven in a skirt is kind of funny and scary.

You should sculpt a Skaven retainer in a bathrobe, holding a violin.

I think I ordered some pewter violins when I ordered Tred's skulls. Nothing has been delivered so far though.

You need to email that company and tell them that they're a 'BIG PHONEY!'
I hate Heresy miniatures after they owe me a pack of super fine putty for a couple of years. Got the limited ed predator..
