Really interested in seeing more of this. I'm liking how this is turning out.

Thanks, FKM. Aside from the Black Consul small allied contingent, this stuff has to wait until the chem dogs get done.
Although I really want to get those 60 rough riders done so that I can play a double force org game at 2k with all that cav. There is just something of a thrill when you use cavalry en masse in 40k...

The faces seem different by quite a bit from the normal guardsmen models with the exception of the blonde haired guy. So i guess they were mostly green stuffed? I'm not really knowledgable about converting but i prefer seeing it done well to painting. Both together are pretty awesome though.
I like the guy with an eye-patch and a cape. It's very characterful.
The rough rider guy looks pretty good but i can't help but feel he's got a bunch of marshmellows at the end of his stick in order to cook over a fire.

Yeah there's a picture of these troops in the preparation/ green stuff phase in the golden guardsman entry thread. The trick is to use your modelling knife to cut the catachan bandanna off but still try to keep the shape of the head roughly human, then sculpt some hair on.
The eye patch head was from the Empire Captain box, but I added some long hair onto his bald pate. The cape is also from that box...
