So I've been very busy with my rough rider guard army (some pics in the pictures thread under YmmSec Guard) until I decided to buy 3rd party bit heads (From Victoria Miniatures) and resurrect my old chem dog theme army. As you can see I drilled into the metal heads, attached a metal uninsulated connector piece to the back of the cadian torso and wired the face to the connector. Then I filled the holes in the connector with green stuff and made some kind of chem filter around the mask to cover up the drilling damage to the face.

As far as converted models go they look decent enough but i really have to see them painted before i can throw out a good opinion of them.

I'm on it. As usual, of course, the assembled models now far outnumber the ones being painted....

Some progression would be nice. I'll try to finish my skaven warlord spinetail also btw. He's almost done. Had the weirdest splurge of painting him last weekend i think. Gonna try this one as well. Least i only work monday through thursday so i should be good for friday, saturday and sunday for a bit of painting. Provided i don't want to on the week days. Guess i'll just have to get bored of gaming again for a while. Probably easier said than done. It'll probably happen as soon as i'm done with this play-through of 'deus ex: human revolution'.

Do it. Painting something is rewarding.
Just out of interest are you thinning your paints by adding a little bit of water (and then mixing them on an art palette/ tile/ pringles plastic cap) yet? Painting thin layers works wonders.

For some reason the lighting just makes them all the more bad ass. Like they're some special force of bad asses in a secret mission by the inquisition or something in some special facility.

Nah, no =I=, just Imperial guardsmen. Also no veterans, just platoon regulars and later on 2 penal squads. The closest I'll have to an Inquisitor is a Primaris Psyker.

I like the conversion job. The chem-inhalers are pretty cool too. Almost wish stuff like that was still in the game and yet the current guard codex is much better.

Vendettas are so bent though. I've never taken one for fear of being called an odious cheese merchant, plus because they pissed me off. If a Land raider has to have less transport space for lascannon generator then surely a vendetta should have a max capacity of 5 guardsmen. Maybe...

Vendettas didn't p*ss me off too much but i never took flyers. I was more disgusted by the idea of valkyries in the air cavalry lists.
What i would like to rather see is imperial guard doing a sort of helicopter (apache) strike force though. I'd go back to imperial guard just for that possibly though the expense would be enormous.

On the subject of aircav, I like this storm talon conversion on dakka. I might even make one when I get spare cash. Just wish they'd hurry up and release the next codex SM so I can finally know the correct points value... (Basically it was released in WD, but then they changed the points with the Death from The Skies supplement) www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/469325.page
