Nice look on the banshees though I do prefer the new ones.
Keep in mind when you actually use your ethereal units (provided you play with or against vampire counts) that only magic weapons, spells or effects can damage them. However being ethereal means your ethereal unit also does magical attacks. This is important to understand if you're facing something like 'banner of the world dragon' which gives elves a crazy high ward save against magical attacks and they can put it on white lions which combines with their +3 armor save that they get against shooting.
Another good idea is that if you do play vampire counts you might want to keep your vampire general as far away from combat as possible. The death of a general crumbles all units but small units like ethereals and skirmishers suffer the worst since they often don't have many wounds and a destroyed general forces instability tests. Vampire counts are tricky to get the hang of but just make sure your general stays out of combat at all costs or can win it. Losing your last 'lore of vampires' wizard is also the last nail in the coffin. Your army will just uncontrollably suffer instability for the rest of the game and whole units might vaporize. You'd be lacking magic, decent leadership to prevent your guys crumbling or from being led around like sheep and your army would be falling to pieces usually getting rid of all your re-directing units and war machine killers so that you can only be owned and die. That said vampiric units are immune so that's always a plus. It means blood knights can go on without be hindered by 'crumble'.

Edge paints into the crags first, then a wash, then white drybrushed over the top and then I played with some dry paints and some more edge paints to gussy them up. The middle one had her hair drybrushed with Etherium blue, the one on the right got Gauss Blaster Green edge paint highlights in hers.
The Nihilakh Oxide made this so easy and a lot of fun. I don't think the photo quite catches them at the best and they'll look better once the bases aren't white and stained and are giving a bit of contrast.
Edit for page two replies:
Sounds like some good advice. Vampires are pretty strong aren't they? I own at least three vampire models so I can have a couple acting as Blood Dragons and ripping it up and one playing Lamia and hiding away.
The old banshee models are nice and pretty classic but yeah, the new one knocks them out of the water. I have one and it is lovely but oh so fragile. I'll paint her up soon. I might put her in a different colour scheme and I really like how the GW model looks with red hair so she might be ginger. Do banshees fight as single models or as small units? This might be important if I do her up to look different to her sisters.

Banshees are either unit champions for units of cairn wraiths or they can be bought as hero models for a steeper price.
If I remember correctly ethereal units are not impeded by terrain features (including rivers and forests). I can't remember all the details but I think ethereal units can even move through impassable terrain as long as they don't stop in it. Another big thing is that any sort of skeletal steed doesn't suffer from things like dangerous terrain.
It's mostly odd that dangerous terrain pretty much only effects blood knights and they're still really expensive and still probably the most potent cavalry (that aren't monstrous cavalry).

Sorted out the trolls with their bases and fixed a couple of small things. It took me a while to get this but having good models based well really makes a difference. When they first came out I was with the people scoffing about the GW 'tufts', little bits of static grass glued together, but Cosmic told me he had tried some out and that they were really good. Having had a go I have to agree, if you want some wild grass then these are just the ticket. There are a couple of resin bits from the Deathworld basing kit on these too. The basing kits are probably overpriced but they are quite a bit of fun for special projects. I'm looking forwards to using most of the pack up when I get around to my Lizardmen. Once the trolls were finished they spent a bit of time looking stupid and dumbfounded and then wandered of to go find an Orc band to fight with and/or some rocks to eat. Maybe I'll see them again one day, as invaders

Haha! Brilliant. Now I'll have to match that basing style for da ladz, who are probably drinking and having troll head-butting contests, while mounted on pigs.
Was that spider in the gw basing/ deathworld kit?

Yep. They had a few spiders in there. The tufts were from the Badlands basing kit but hey are pretty close to Middenland or possibly Mordheim Tufts, if you want to use tufts I'd recommend taking the trolls down to a GW and looking at them next to each other. Other than that it is GW slate and sand. It's up to you of course but you could always have the rest of the army based in a different way as long as it is ballpark the Trolls are in there native mountainy terrain.
edit: Looking at the macros it looks like I should have put a second layer of paint on the sides of the bases. I'm not sure how obvious it is in real life but if you wanted to do it the grey I used was Mechanicus Standard.

I heard Chem has your trolls now. Chem are you planning on playing fantasy orcs any time soon or did you just like the look of them? Fantasy could always use more players.

They're still in boxes, not where I am now, and need painting. Also I'm going to have to go over the goblin green with caliban green then waagh flesh highlights. I like the fact that orcs really don't have to be uniform, even then I started working with a huge range of brown paints for their clothes, as I figured browns and greys would look more realistic for them, rather than bright colours.
Historically bright red dye and purple dye were expensive to produce for clothing.

I like how the stone trolls' backs blend in with rocks. Like if the trolls were curled up in a fetal position they'd probably blend in with the rocks in a rocky landscape.

Mmmm, like you'd crest a mountain top and suddenly a pile of rock rears up at you and it was a sleeping stone troll all along!
I'll share some WIP pics of my Sea Guard test model soon. I'm not sure if I'm adding too much colour with the spear and the wood on the model the way I've done it. I'll have a better idea soon.

Surely trolls must stink harder than a farmyard.
Do you have kroxigor? We could duke it out - stone troll vs kroxigor in a mega arena clash, while orks and lizardmen die all around them.
Ps - I've vowed to paint about 5k of marines as well as an orc army, so I really need to speed up now.....

I get the feeling river trolls either smell fishy, like toads or just swampy like rotted food and sewage. So I can imagine normal trolls smell better though maybe very sweaty.

River trolls are plastic now, I have to get a set of those too, regardless of the smell.

Currently I'm using rat ogres more. Can't say they're great but they seem to be ok vs monsters and really great vs infantry. The loadout I used last allowed me to use plenty of slaves to take the place of other stuff I needed allowing my special choices to have plenty of rat ogres and my rares to have 2 doomwheels and a hellpit abomination.
I'll admit I think my rat ogres are the worst monstrous infantry around but they're still potent. I should be able to handle both of your armies though (though mostly because you're both not that into fantasy and never played or don't play anymore). I really, really hate facing lizardmen though. I've faced them too much and they're just not fun to face last I played. I may be able to change that with my new list however.
